Week 9 Poster

I choose to do two engagement shots for my sister in law. They are getting married in August and I shot their engagement session. I wanted to give them this gift so they can hang these on their wall when they move into their own home.

Enhanced portrait

For this photo I did some slight editing. I first removed blemishes, adjusted levels, adjusted the Hue/Sats, slightly whitened the teeth. This photo shoot was a lot of fun. I realized you can find a lot of places for a good background if you get creative and look. I wanted to show some rustic in the photo since the couple loves the outdoors.

Week 6 Portraits

This is a photo shoot I did for my Sister-in-law. We had a lot of fun shooting. I tired to implement some tips that I have learned. I think these two shots really show how to angle the camera and get above the subjects.

Border

In photo shop I brought a photo in and adjusted the levels, size and saturation first. I then went in and added a layer. I then put a rectangluar box in the photo. I then used the square eraser tool and brought back part of the image.

Grunge and text

05/15/2009; Bannack Montana 12:58; f/5.6; Sony DSC-w300

On this photo I first adjusted the levels and size. I then created a layer with a heavy brick texture. I then used my brush at a 50% opaticty and erased from the truck. I then added some more texture with a wood brush and then erased some around the truck at an even lower opaticty at 35%. I then added text. I added the text as an overlay.

*We saw a moose in a campground around Mesa Falls. The moose was a good 150 yards away. My camera could not zoom enough to make me happy so I focused with a pair of binoculars and then put the camera up to the lens. It turned out better than I thought.

High Dynamic Range

I was able to down to Shoshone Falls over the weekend. While I was there the sky was overcast and it was a very dull day. However when I positioned the camera at the sky it lightened the shot up. I changed the settings on camera with aperture settings and changed the manual settings to get the effects with same shot.

Cut Out

In Photoshop I used the quick select tool to highlight just the tree. I then refined my edges. I wanted to show what a difference the sky makes in this picture. I feel I makes the tree look alive, it makes the ride look higher in the sky, and it defines the edges of the tree more. What a beautiful day.

This is the Newport Beach Light house on the Oregon Coast. I decided to cut out the sky because of the overcast. I think it makes the lighthouse look dull. I also adjusted the levels of the picture to bring out the whiteness of the lighthouse.

Study in Color

2. Yellow Sunflowers: 09-10-08 Leavenworth, WA Cybershot 13.6 mega pixel
3. Yellow Duck: 07-15-08 Graham, WA Cybershot 13.6 mega pixel

To me yellow can come across as very dominating or soft and warm. While I was in Leavenworth, WA the sunflowers were in full bloom. What a gerogeous sight it was and I wanted to capture this with my camera. I barely adjusted the levels in photoshop and the rest was done on the camera.

The duck, oh the duck. This was one of my daughters favorite toys. Within 24 hours the duck had been washed, plucked, had an eye missing, lost a foot, and was smothered. This picture says it all.
